I grew up with plants around me, my mom loves plants; she even talks to them and tells them how pretty they are and how thankful she is for bringing more life into our home.
Personally, I thought she was crazy and I thought the same for every person that talked to plants. My first thought was, “hello, they don’t understand! and why are you being weird…please stop!” True story…
I actually enjoyed camping when I was little, my step dad had taking us camping for the first time when I was 7 to a beach in Mexico and I really enjoyed it…we then camped at a lake a year later. I remember having a good time, but not a great time. I became annoyed by nature up during my teens. It’s hard to say that because I look all around us and I become filled with joy and admiration at all the plants, birds, and everything.
For the past two years, I have changed my views completely. Jeff is a person who enjoys nature, finds peace, balance, and fulfillment. I always wondered how he did that. How he was able to walk out next to trees and feel completely at peace. I wanted that, I wanted to feel comforted and I could see how that happened. We started going on hikes because it was the only time he could workout and relax at the same time. We went throughout the four seasons of the year and I was able to see how it all changed every month. However, I started meditating about a year ago and by opening up it’s like I saw a whole new world; but what really changed it was after I had gotten Reiki (in which I will talk about in another post)
Ways to Enjoy Nature:
- go out for a sweet picnic out in the park away from everyone
- take slow walks at the park or the beach
- make sure to take pictures of little things that interest you or catch your eye.
- if you’re the passenger in a car, always look out your window instead of your phone
- find shapes in the clouds
- water your plants during dusk
- be curious and thankful
